Job summary

Owens Corning – Fairburn Facility is seeking an Electrical Instrument Technician to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical, electronic, and instrumentation systems across the plant. The role emphasizes supporting safety, quality initiatives, and overall plant efficiency.

The EIT will work with PLCs, 480V motor controls, robotics, and instrumentation while utilizing SAP for work orders and reporting. Training and post-training schedules are provided, with day and night shifts available.

Qualifications

• Strong troubleshooting with packaging equipment.
• Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, servo systems, and robotics.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and ladder logic.
• Familiarity with instrumentation maintenance and high-voltage systems.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair field devices including photo eyes, limit switches, and PLCs.
• Read and interpret ladder logic and Allen Bradley ControlLogix systems.
• Work with 480V motor controls, servos, robotics, and Fanuc systems.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Support production teams during breakdowns and equipment failures.
• Maintain and calibrate instrumentation such as thermocouples, pressure transmitters, and digital displays.
• Use SAP and other systems for work orders, inventory, and reporting.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and other maintenance staff.
