Job summary

Summit Academy OIC in Minneapolis seeks an Electrical Program Instructor to deliver competency-based instruction to adult learners and align with the COE standards for Pre-Apprentice Construction certification.

You will develop curricula, manage classroom safety, assess student progress, and coordinate field trips while staying current with industry trends. This is a part-time role requiring evening hours and local travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of electrician trade training under supervision.
• Minimum 4000 hours of recent electrician experience, or two years related post-secondary training and hands-on experience.
• 1–2 years of teaching experience, preferably with adult learners.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction to adult learners in a competency-based format.
• Design and maintain course descriptions, lesson plans, and outlines to ensure safety and accessibility.
• Maintain course objectives as set by Summit Academy OIC.
• Coordinate, lead, and supervise student field trips.
