Job summary

UHP is seeking a full-time Electrical Instructor to deliver immersive, hands-on electrical training for veterans through the Ignite Skilled Trades Institute. You will conduct classroom instruction, labs, and assessments under the Founding Director of Electrical School, translating real-world electrical experience into safe, engaging teaching.

The ideal candidate has journeyman/master electrician credentials with refrigeration/industrial maintenance experience and a passion for building long-term

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Journeyman/Master Electrician license or equivalent credential.
• Five+ years of practical electrical experience.
• Direct, hands-on experience in refrigeration and industrial maintenance.
• Experience with electrical controls, motors, relays, contactors, and testing equipment.
• Knowledge of NEC, electrical safety, and lockout/tagout procedures.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom and hands-on instruction using NCCER-aligned curriculum.
• Teach electrical theory, NEC requirements, wiring methods, and troubleshooting.
• Lead electrical, refrigeration, and industrial maintenance labs with safety at the forefront.
• Assess student performance through tests, demonstrations, and practicals.
• Mentor veterans transitioning into skilled trades and translate military skills to civilian careers.
• Maintain safe, organized classrooms and labs; ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Provide feedback and support to ensure student readiness for employment and apprenticeships.
