About the Role

Convergint is seeking a full-time, enthusiastic, results-driven, and forward-thinking Electrical Installer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will install, program, test, repair, and service various systems and equipment, including security, fire alarm, and life safety systems, with minimal guidance. You will collaborate closely with customers and internal colleagues to provide technical installation support and training, contributing to our growth and success.

Responsibilities

1. Participate in our Recruit Awesome People program to promote our colleague-first culture.
2. Install, program, test, repair, and service systems including security, fire alarm, life safety, and building automation.
3. Work with customers and colleagues to provide technical support and training; assist or train less experienced installers.
4. Interpret manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams; utilize electronics knowledge and standard test instruments.
5. Assist with basic installation tasks as directed by the project lead.
6. Ensure excellent customer service at all times, making Convergint the first choice for service.
7. Own onsite projects, ensuring safety, quality, and performance standards are met.
8. Suggest improvements for installation methods to enhance profitability and quality.
9. Learn and perform tasks of an Electrical Installer III to advance through the trade program.
10. Provide feedback to the Job-Lead on issues and time estimates; act as a liaison to the Project Lead.

Qualifications

• Experience installing and wiring access control, network cameras, door hardware, panel installation and wiring, and programming related systems.
• Strong construction skills and understanding of system plans.
• Proficiency with blueprints, schematics, manuals, and wiring methods.
• Ability to work independently on installation procedures and understand complex specifications with assistance.
• Customer-focused with the ability to work under pressure.
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude with experience using hand and power tools.
• Good math, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in the electronic security industry.
• Construction experience with some electrical or low voltage background.

Preferred (Not Required)

• Trade certifications (e.g., Electrician).
• Experience with specific systems and brands (e.g., Axis, Bosch, Lenel).
• Relevant industry certifications or project management credentials.
