Job summary

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking Aerospace Assemblers with electrical experience for an opportunity in El Segundo, CA. The Electro-Mechanical Technician will perform a variety of tasks in support of manufacturing space flight sub-systems and support equipment, assembling PCB assemblies into product chassis.

Candidates must have 3+ years of electronics/PCB assembly experience, read blueprints, and be able to lift 20 lbs frequently.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years reading blueprints and aerospace processes.
• 3+ years in electronics/PCB assemblies.
• Able to lift 20 lbs frequently.
• Ability to stand, reach, bend for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Assemble electro-mechanical assemblies by interpreting blueprints, drawings and specifications.
• Assemble PCB assemblies into product chassis.
• Use precision calibrated tools: torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers.
• Visually inspect assemblies to drawings and specs; document non-conformances.
• Soldering/rework of through-hole and SMT components.
• Support conformal coat, masking, epoxy application and coating.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION

• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED
• More than 3 years of experience reading blueprints, working with manufacturing plans, and reviewing instructions for aerospace manufacturing processes
• 3 years of experience in electronics, electro-mechanical and printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies
• Capable of lifting 20lbs or more on a frequent basis
• Ability to stand and move (reach, bend, or stoop) to handle products for extended periods of time with only short breaks

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• More than 3 years of experience in Electro-Mechanical assembly on high reliability products
• More than 3 years of experience working with ESD, IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 standards
• More than 3 years of experience with soldering
• More than 5 years of experience building a variety of component-level space products (e.g. avionics boxes, batteries, mechanisms, optics, printed circuit board assemblies, solar arrays, etc.)
• More than 3 years of experience using structures hand tools, test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers
• More than 3 years of experience working in a Clean Room environment
• More than 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment
• Currently hold a IPC J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610 certification
• More than 3 years of experience using basic Microsoft Office and office computing systems

JOB DESCRIPTION

• The Electro-Mechanical Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks in support of manufacturing of space flight sub-systems and support equipment.
• Electro-Mechanical assembly of PCB assemblies into product chassis
• Assemble Electro-Mechanical assemblies by interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings and specifications, and written assembly, and standard operating procedures
• Use precision calibrated tools - torque wrenches, micrometers and calipers
• Perform visually inspect of Electro-Mechanical assemblies to drawings, engineering specifications, and written assembly, integration and test procedures
• Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications
• Document non-conformances and associated rework/repair
• Soldering and reworking of through-hole and SMT components
• Support conformal coat, masking, epoxy application and coating
