Job summary

Gerdau is seeking an Electrical Industrial Maintenance Supervisor to lead a skilled electrical maintenance team at the Petersburg plant, focusing on reliability and continuous improvement.

You will collaborate with operations, engineering, and plant leadership to reduce downtime, improve equipment performance, and drive safety and excellence through predictive and preventive maintenance programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or HS Diploma/GED with 5+ years of related experience.
• 3+ years of leadership in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, steel, metals, mining, or related heavy industry.
• Experience leading electrical maintenance or reliability teams.
• Knowledge of predictive, preventive, and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
• Experience troubleshooting industrial electrical systems, motors, drives, controls, and power distribution equipment.
• Strong leadership, communication, and employee development skills.

• Manage routine maintenance activities, work execution, and reliability improvements.
• Participate in outage planning, major repairs, and capital improvement projects.

What You'll Do

As the Electrical Industrial Maintenance Supervisor, you will lead a team responsible for electrical maintenance and reliability across plant systems. You will work closely with operations, engineering, and maintenance leadership to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, and create a safe, high-performing work environment.

What We're Looking For

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field ORHS Diploma/GED and 5+ years of job-related work experience in lieu of degree.
• 3+ years of leadership experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, steel, metals, mining, pulp and paper, chemical processing, power generation, or related heavy industry
• Experience leading electrical maintenance or reliability teams
• Knowledge of predictive, preventive, and reliability-centered maintenance practices
• Experience troubleshooting industrial electrical systems, motors, drives, controls, and power distribution equipment
• Strong leadership, communication, and employee development skills
• Ability to build relationships across maintenance, operations, and engineering teams

Preferred

• Experience with overhead cranes, utilities, mobile equipment, substations, switchyards, HVAC systems, or industrial environmental systems
• Experience with CMMS systems such as SAP, Maximo, or similar platforms
• Experience in steel manufacturing or other heavy industrial environments

Leadership Opportunity

This is primarily a day-shift leadership position with off-hours support for critical maintenance activities, outages, and operational emergencies.
