Job summary

PALMETTO RESIDENTIAL ELECTRIC OF VA LLC in Ashland, VA is hiring a full-time Residential Electric Helper. You will assist electricians with installing electrical systems, lighting, outlets, and circuit breakers, run conduit, and prepare wiring for connection boxes and panels.

You will operate common hand and power tools, drive the company vehicle, and carry out duties as assigned in a safety‑conscious, team‑oriented environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid US issued Driver's License.
• A US Driving Record that passes company insurance requirements to drive for the company.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to present information clearly in one-on-one and small group settings to customers and employees.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Electrician in installing electrical systems.
• Install lighting, electrical outlets, and circuit breakers.
• Thread conduit ends and connect couplings and conduit fittings.
• Secure brackets to bulkheads and pull wires to connection boxes and panels.
• Use conduit bending tools, screwdrivers, pliers, knives, hacksaws, and wire strippers.
• Replace faulty circuit breakers, fuses, switches, or wiring as needed.
• Hook up appliances for power and install new lighting and ceiling fans.
• Drive Company vehicle as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
