We are seeking an experienced Electrical Hardware Design Engineer to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity within our Engineering Department reporting to the General Manager.
Role Summary
Responsible for leading electrical product design activities for all product developments. The engineer provides technical project direction and owns the definition of product design verification, manufacturing, and qualification testing methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Specify and design electrical components, subassemblies, and assemblies, including circuit design (analogue, embedded digital, power, RF, high voltage), PCB design specification, layout, fabrication, hardware & software integration, safety, manufacturing test development, and qualification testing.
- Lead cross-functional teams in component specification, conceptualization, design, and integration.
- Research, evaluate, specify, and maintain manufacturing equipment, systems, and processes to meet product requirements.
- Design test control apparatus and procedures for product testing, verification, and approval.
- Collaborate with manufacturing partners to review new board designs for manufacturability and evaluate new partners.
- Apply engineering principles, process engineering, and LEAN principles to design administrative functions.
- Assist management with personnel evaluations and decisions.
- Investigate product failures and manufacturing issues, determine root causes, and implement solutions.
- Manage engineering changes through company processes.
- Develop process improvements for documentation, ECAD, and project management.
- Assist in documentation control and ISO audits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (BSEE or BSCE)
- 7+ years experience as an Electrical Engineer in electronic product design and manufacturing
- Expertise in ECAD practices, schematic and PCB design using OrCad & PADS
- Experience with product structure control, engineering change processes, and EMC/EMI, Safety, CE qualifications
- Knowledge of MCAD practices and assembly design
- Leadership experience in small teams
- ERP/SAP experience preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and within teams
