Job summary

The City of Rock Hill is seeking an entry-level Electrical GIS / Engineering Technician I to provide engineering, GIS, and design support for the city’s electric distribution system. Under supervision, you will assist with design support, field staking, cost estimation, and GIS database management for both overhead and underground facilities.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, GIS, Geomatics, Surveying, Engineering Technology, or related field experience is preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and related work experience may be considered.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide GIS and engineering design support for the electric distribution system.
• Maintain GIS database and validate assets like poles, transformers, switches, and streetlights.
• Prepare construction packages and coordinate with contractors and city departments.
• Assist with field staking, inspections, and cost estimates.
• Support outage restoration and system planning with GIS data.
