Job summary

Mountain Electric Cooperative is seeking an Electrical Engineer I to support design, drafting and analysis for its distribution system. You will learn to size transformers, calculate loads, select conductors, and develop precise maps using GIS and AutoCAD.

You will also assist in protective relay design, system planning, and documentation to ensure safe, reliable operation of the electric grid. On-the-job training will develop your skills in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Entry-level Electrical Engineer role requiring on-the-job training in distribution engineering.

Responsibilities

• Assist with transformer sizing, load calculations and conductor sizing.
• Produce maps and drawings using GIS, AutoCAD and FUTURA for distribution circuits.
• Support design, maintenance and troubleshooting of protective relaying and control systems.
• Help with planning studies, cost estimates and documentation for distribution projects.
