Job summary

International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. in South Brunswick, NJ is seeking an Electric Forklift Mechanic responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing battery-powered lift trucks, pallet jacks and related warehouse equipment.

You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, perform preventive maintenance, replace worn components, service batteries and chargers, and document work orders and parts requests to support safe and efficient operations.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required; technical certification in automotive/mechanical systems preferred.
1–3+ years of professional troubleshooting on industrial equipment, heavy machinery, or automotive repair.
Strong understanding of DC/AC motor principles and ability to read complex schematics.
Must have valid state driver’s license and ability to lift 50–75 lbs.

Responsibilities

Diagnostics: use tools and schematics to identify electrical faults and motor issues.
Preventive Maintenance: perform scheduled PM and check battery health.
Component Repair: replace/repair motors, controllers, contactors, and wiring harnesses.
Battery Maintenance: service lead-acid and lithium-ion forklift batteries and chargers.
Documentation: log labor, orders, and parts to track history.
