Job summary

IFF is seeking an Electric Forklift Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair battery-powered lift trucks and related warehouse equipment. You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues and perform preventive maintenance to ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with OSHA.

Responsibilities include diagnostics with tools, PM inspections, component replacement, battery maintenance, and accurate documentation of work orders and parts used.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED; technical school training or certification preferred.
• Experience: 1–3+ years of mechanical or electrical troubleshooting on industrial equipment or heavy machinery.
• Technical skills: DC/AC motor principles, relay logic, ability to read complex electrical and hydraulic schematics.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostics: use diagnostic tools, multimeters, and schematics to trace faults.
• Preventive Maintenance: conduct PM inspections, lubricate parts, test battery health.
• Component Repair: replace or rebuild motors, controllers, wiring, hydraulics, braking systems.
• Battery Maintenance: service and test lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries and chargers.
• Documentation: maintain work orders, labor logs, and parts requests.
