POSITION TITLE: Large Projects Electrical Foreman
REPORTS TO: Project Manager or Other Assigned Supervisor
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position is key to achieving high efficiency in the coordination and execution of electrical projects. Responsibilities include interaction with the Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, and Estimator for the implementation of assigned electrical projects. The role requires strong personal, organizational, and relationship skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Lead and control electricians engaged in all activities related to their assigned projects.
- Optimize resources (personnel, equipment, and materials) to ensure efficient and timely project completion within scope.
- Demonstrate good organizational skills, adhering to policies, procedures, and work practices.
- Read, interpret, and follow procedures, specifications, drawings, and other project documentation.
- Develop excellent working relationships with work crews and other company personnel.
- Create two-to-three week look-ahead schedules for each project.
- Estimate hours to complete work tasks.
- Monitor project budget constraints and participate in weekly cost-to-complete meetings.
- Communicate instructions effectively to the workforce.
- Coordinate with other trades to ensure optimal utilization of resources and successful project completion.
- Identify 'out of scope' work and submit RFIs to the Project Manager.
- Supervise electrical workers on industrial, commercial, and maintenance projects.
- Ensure crews are supplied with tools, equipment, and materials; prevent wastage.
- Implement discipline strategies to prevent absenteeism, unsafe practices, and idleness.
- Enforce safety procedures and regulations, maintaining a safe work environment.
- Ensure personal and team safety, taking care of health and safety at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, ascending/descending ladders, maintaining balance, bending, crawling, extending arms, grasping, perceiving attributes of objects, and working in noisy or confined environments.
DRESS CODE:
- Wear appropriate work attire, including OSHA-compliant shirts, long pants, and sturdy footwear.
- Uniforms provided; clothing must be safe and free of offensive symbols or logos.
- Jewelry and grooming should not pose safety hazards.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures, at heights up to 60', and in restricted areas.
- Wear personal protective equipment at all times.
- Work may include night shifts, mid shifts, and short-notice overtime.
REQUIRED SKILL SETS, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum five (5) years' experience as a commercial/industrial electrician.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
- Excellent organizational and relationship skills.
- Completion of a Certified Apprenticeship Program.
