Job summary

Shermco is seeking a NETA Field Service Technician to perform electrical testing, maintenance and repair on distribution systems at customer sites in Texas. Travel locally/regionally up to 40% is required.

You will test transformers, relays, switchgear, and perform data collection using PowerDB and related tools, while following safety procedures and industry standards.

The role requires a technical degree, NETA certification, and 2+ years of switchgear testing experience.

Qualifications

• Must have NETA Certification (I/II/III/IV) or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience testing switchgear & troubleshooting.
• Strong PC skills including Microsoft Excel; PowerDB experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites (industrial & commercial) to inspect, test, troubleshoot, perform start-up and data collection on HV, MV, and LV systems.
• Test instrument transformers, power transformers (Doble, TTR, insulation resistance).
• Test electro-mechanical and solid-state relays; perform relay calibration and power metering.
