Job summary

Cummins Inc. Seymour location seeks an electrical maintenance professional to service, support, and maintain electrical equipment across the defined geographic area.

This role performs preventative maintenance using the Maximo system and adheres to safety and engineering standards. Responsibilities include diagnosing faults, installing wiring and control systems, and supporting cross-functional teams with technical guidance and training to apprentices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent AND
• Associate’s degree with two-four years of relevant experience OR
• Trade certificate with six years of relevant experience OR
• Eight years of relevant experience OR
• Department of Labor certification.
• Must pass all related testing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe work habits and safety-focused planning of tasks.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment to locate and fix issues.
• Conform to NEC, NFPA 70E, Cummins specs, and applicable standards for electrical systems 600 volts and below.
• Plan, install, assemble, and troubleshoot electrical wiring and distribution equipment.
• Utilize plant electrical distribution knowledge to support customer needs and prioritize maintenance work.
• Prepare sketches and follow blueprints to determine wiring locations in compliance with codes.
• Communicate technical information to customers and train department personnel and apprentices.
• Participate in improvement projects and complete work with minimal supervision.
