Job summary

CSA Group in Detroit is seeking an Electrical Field Evaluation Representative to provide services to clients across the United States. This role supports a one‑time evaluation program to help manufacturers bring products into the North American market when certification isn't viable yet proof of compliance is needed.

You will perform technical evaluations, communicate with clients, document detailed reports, and collaborate with Engineering, Lab and field staff to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related Sciences; or Engineering Technology or Associates Degree; or Electrician; or related technical field.
• Certification / Lab Testing experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of laboratory instrumentation and general laboratory procedures.
• Knowledge of U.S. and Canadian electrical standards and how to apply them to installation requirements and codes (e.g. NEC, CEC, NFPA 790 & 791, SPE‑1000, SPE‑3000).
• NEC, NFPA and UL standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical evaluations of non‑certified equipment according to specified code and ensure compliance and safety.
• Communicate with clients to schedule inspections, review costs, answer questions, and provide technical guidance.
• Document detailed technical reports for alterations to sub‑standard equipment and review corrective actions with clients.
• Conduct research on standards and guidelines; collaborate with Engineering, Lab and colleagues on procedural issues.
