Job summary

Lam Research in Portland area is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and manage electrical systems for new R&D lab facilities and production equipment installations.

You will develop cost estimates, review drawings, coordinate with architecture/engineering firms, and ensure compliance with safety codes. Travel domestically and internationally may be required as projects progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering with focus in Power Analysis/Distribution or Master’s with 2+ years in the field.
• Eight years of experience in a similar role.
• Professional Engineering License or EIT certification desired.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA/NEC & NETA requirements.
• Experience with electrical troubleshooting and design/maintenance of variable speed drive systems.

Responsibilities

• Technical lead for design, construction, commissioning, system testing, and operations of electrical systems including power, UPS, generators, lighting, and grounding.
• Ensure proper maintenance and reliable operation through coordination with teams.
• Use EasyPower for power coordination studies and short circuit calculations.
• Track capacity and ensure sufficient electrical capacity for growth.
• Oversee electrical circuit modifications and contractor installations.
• Participate in site design reviews and ensure Lam protocol adherence.
• Identify infrastructure improvements to reduce operating costs and improve uptime.
• Manage budgets for electrical engineering expenses and capital investments.
• Develop specifications for electrical equipment and materials.
