Job summary

In-Finite Search Solutions in Kentucky is seeking an Estimator with experience in electrical or mechanical estimating, focusing on power distribution equipment and industrial systems. You will interpret drawings, determine costs, and deliver accurate customer quotes.

You will prepare BOMs, coordinate with Engineering, Sales, and Project Management, and ensure competitive pricing while identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of electrical/mechanical estimating experience.
• Knowledge of switchgear, transformers, power panels, or industrial electrical systems preferred.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
• Strong understanding of electrical components and industrial power equipment.
• Experience with estimating tools, ERP/MRP, and MS Office.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Technical degree or electrical certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for switchgear, transformers, and power panels.
• Review customer specifications, drawings, and technical requirements.
• Identify components and obtain supplier pricing.
• Estimate labor hours for assembly, wiring, testing, and integration.
• Request supplier quotes and evaluate vendor options.
• Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Prepare customer-ready proposals with pricing and scope.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, and Project Management to ensure accurate estimates.
• Maintain historical cost data and pricing models.
• Identify potential cost, scope, and technical risks and recommend solutions.
