Job summary

Welsbach Electric is seeking an Electrical Estimator with 3-5 years of experience to join our estimating team in New York. You will prepare takeoffs, price the work, and develop proposals that lay out the bid by phase and by line item.

This is a hands-on role for someone familiar with the NYC market and deadlines. You will work with our team to review drawings, specs, and addenda, identify risks, and provide value engineering options to bring costs down, while ensuring bids are accurate and

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of electrical estimating experience, ideally with an electrical contractor.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, one-lines, and specifications.
• Working knowledge of NEC and NYC/local building codes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed takeoffs using bidding software (Accubid/Anywhere, Live Count preferred).
• Price the work and develop proposals broken down by phase and line item.
• Review drawings, specs and addenda to define scope and exclusions.
• Identify project risks and propose value engineering to reduce costs.
• Coordinate with engineering staff for budgeting and risk review.
• Solicit/vendor pricing to ensure complete scope coverage.
• Coordinate with project managers and field to validate numbers.
