Job summary

Welsbach Electric is seeking an Electrical Estimator with 3–5 years of experience to join our estimating team in New York City. You will prepare takeoffs, price the work, and develop proposals that lay out the bid by phase and line item.

This is a hands-on role for someone familiar with the NYC market and bid timelines. The candidate should be proficient with bidding software (Accubid/AccubidAnywhere) and Live Count is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of electrical estimating experience.
• Proficient in bidding software such as Accubid/AccubidAnywhere; Live Count preferred.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, one-lines, and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed takeoffs and price the work for bids.
• Break the bid down by phase and line item in proposals.
• Review drawings, specs, and addenda to define scope, inclusions, exclusions.
• Identify risks and propose value engineering to reduce costs.
• Coordinate with engineering staff for budgeting and risk review.
• Solicit and level vendor and subcontractor pricing.
• Coordinate with project managers and field to ensure numbers are sound.
• Maintain estimate files, historical pricing, and bid records.

Job Summary

Welsbach Electric is seeking an Electrical Estimator with 3–5 years of experience to join our estimating team. In this role you will prepare takeoffs, price the work, and develop proposals that lay out the bid by phase and by line item. It is a hands‑on position for someone whoknowsthe NYC market, keeps their estimates clean and well organized, and meets deadlines when bids are due.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

WhatYou’llDo

• Prepare detailed takeoffs using bidding software —Accubid, AccubidAnywhere , Live Count preferred
• Price the work and develop proposals that break the bid down by phase and by line item
• Review the drawings, specs, and addenda to define scope, inclusions, and exclusions
• Identifyproject risks and develop value engineering options to bring cost down
• Work with our engineering staff to obtain budgeting and to review risk and value engineering ideas
• Solicit and level vendor and subcontractor pricing so nothing in the scope is missed
• Coordinate with the project managers and field to confirm the numbers are sound and the job can be built
• Maintain the estimate files, historical pricing, and bid records

Qualifications

WhatWe’reLooking For

• 3–5 years of electrical estimating experience, ideally with an electrical contractor
• Proficient in bidding software—Accubid/AccubidAnywhere. Live Count user strongly preferred
• Able to read electrical drawings, one-lines, and specifications
• Working knowledge of the NECand NYC / local building codes
• Has bid work in NYC and the boroughs, Long Island, and Northern NJ
• Strong Excel skills and close attention to detail
• Communicates clearly and delivers bids on time in a busy environment

Nice to Have

• Core & shell and private (privatized) electrical work in the NYC metro area
• Public agency bids (DOT, DEP, MTA) and union labor rules
• Bluebeam, or similar takeoff tools
