Job description

Build Your Future with InServ

At InServ, we believe great work is built through teamwork, accountability, and a commitment to safety, quality, and excellence. We bring that same commitment to our employees by creating opportunities to contribute, grow, and take ownership of meaningful work.

Lead the Estimate. Develop the Team. Shape the Work.

InServ is looking for a Lead Electrical Estimator to join our Estimating team and play a key role in developing accurate, competitive estimates for complex industrial and commercial projects.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role for an experienced electrical estimator who wants to do more than produce estimates. You'll serve as a technical resource for the estimating team while helping develop people, improve processes, and build the team's ability to independently deliver detailed, high-quality estimates.

You'll work across the full preconstruction process: from conceptual estimating and detailed takeoffs through bid preparation, scope review, value engineering, and proposal development, while partnering closely with project management, engineering, procurement, and operations.

Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences, or other GMP-regulated environments is highly valued.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN
  • Lead detailed electrical quantity takeoffs and cost estimates from conceptual, design-development, and construction documents.
  • Develop labor, material, and equipment pricing for power distribution, lighting, low-voltage, controls, and instrumentation scopes.
  • Analyze one-line diagrams, panel schedules, specifications, and 3D models to accurately scope electrical systems.
  • Evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing and identify scope gaps, risks, exclusions, and assumptions.
  • Lead constructability reviews and develop value-engineering opportunities.
  • Assemble complete bid packages and participate in bid and proposal review meetings.
  • Review and QA/QC estimates prepared by other team members for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Serve as the technical resource for complex electrical estimating questions across the team.
  • Lead, mentor, and train estimators, developing their ability to complete detailed estimates independently and with confidence.
  • Standardize estimating procedures, templates, and unit-cost databases for electrical scopes.
  • Assign and oversee estimating workload to ensure deadlines and bid requirements are met.
  • Coordinate with design and engineering teams on electrical system requirements, code compliance, and equipment selection.
  • Partner with Project Management, Engineering, and Procurement on scope development, buyout, and project requirements.
  • Participate in owner and client presentations as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve estimating accuracy, consistency, efficiency, and overall preconstruction performance.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 8+ years of progressive electrical estimating experience, including prior lead or senior-level responsibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and develop other estimators.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, installation methods, and construction practices.
  • Experience with power distribution, lighting, low-voltage systems, controls, and/or instrumentation.
  • Proficiency with estimating software such as Accubid, On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, HCSS, Trimble/Timberline, or similar.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, panel schedules, electrical specifications, and construction documents.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent field experience will be considered.
  • Pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences, or other GMP-regulated project experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70E, and local electrical code requirements preferred.
At InServ you'll find:
  • Challenging, technically sophisticated industrial projects
  • Exposure to life sciences, advanced manufacturing, food & beverage, and other complex environments
  • The opportunity to influence estimating processes and best practices
  • A collaborative team that values technical expertise
  • Opportunities to mentor and develop future estimating talent
  • Long-term client relationships built on trust and performance
  • A culture focused on quality, safety, and continuous improvement—not bureaucracy
  • Competitive compensation
  • 401(k)
  • Paid Time Off
  • Tuition Reimbursement
