Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Post-secondary certificate preferred.
• Minimum 5 years electrical experience in industrial or commercial construction.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• References, background check, drug screen testing may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of electrical estimating including composing BOMs, performing takeoffs, inputting takeoff data, submitting RFIs, and writing proposals.
• Assist the senior estimator to coordinate and streamline the bid process on each project.
• Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
• Consult with clients, vendors and subcontractors to discuss estimates and resolve issues.
• Prepare estimates used by management for planning, organizing and scheduling work.
• Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.
• Review material and labor requirements to decide whether to produce or purchase components.
• Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation for the project duration.
• Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and tendering processes.
