Qualifications

• Requires a 4-year degree in engineering or construction management or equivalent.
• Experience estimating electrical projects; mechanical, civil, and structural steel experience helpful.
• Strong computer skills with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Self-directed with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Experience with Conest, Accubid, and other estimating software.
• Knowledge of bid forms, bonds, and permit requirements.
• Drug test and background check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Quantify project quantities using on-screen takeoff tools.
• Assemble estimates for budgeting and bid submissions.
• Review plans with owners and design teams for VE and constructability.
• Review preliminary plans and drawings for projects.
• Determine material and labor requirements; create itemized lists.
• Visit construction sites to note site features and infrastructure.
• Compute cost factors for planning, bidding, and vendor selection.
• Develop standard cost data and identify cost reduction opportunities.
• Consult with clients, vendors to discuss estimates and resolve issues.
• Maintain supplier relationships to secure pricing.
• Maintain project profit margins and adjust estimates as needed.
• Create cost-monitoring processes for project profitability.
• Account for duration, scope, and profitability of new projects.
• Other duties as assigned.
