Job summary

Miller Electric Company in Fort Walton Beach, FL is seeking an Electrical Estimator to join our team. You will develop cost estimates from the take-off to bid hand-off, read blueprints, and compute labor and material requirements for diverse projects.

You will work with ConEst Estimating Software, coordinate with engineers and vendors, prepare change orders, and submit bids. A 2-4 year estimating background in heavy commercial or industrial construction is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience estimating heavy commercial, federal and industrial construction for up to $10 Million dollar jobs.
• High proficiency with computer-based estimating and Microsoft Office.
• Experience using National Electrical Code (NEC) and Low Voltage Systems.
• Proven experience working with vendors.

Responsibilities

• Develop cost estimates from the take-off stage to bid hand-off.
• Work with ConEst Estimating Software.
• Develop cost estimates for change orders.
• Analyze material and labor requirements to complete a project.
• Attend pre-bid and scope review meetings.
• Compute and submit bids.
• Read & thoroughly understand blueprints.
• Perform fully on-screen electronic takeoffs and markups.
• Meet with engineers, customers, vendors, and Project Managers.
• Visually inspect project locations to determine the amount of labor and materials needed to do the work.
• Contact vendors for pricing.
• Assess the costs of leasing equipment.
• Maintain the change order submissions/documents in an organized and standardized manner.
• Analyze material and labor requirements to complete a project.
• Attend pre-bid and scope review meetings.
