Job summary

PFD Electric, LLC is seeking a Commercial Electrical Estimator to lead the industrial and commercial bidding process across Arizona. You will drive daily estimating activities, collaborate with field leadership, and translate technical vision into accurate proposals.

In this role you will shape estimating strategy, manage project pipelines, and work within a close-knit team to maximize growth and bid success. Hybrid work allows most work from home with field access as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on experience with Conest Estimating Software.
• Minimum of 5 years in commercial/industrial electrical construction or estimating.
• Proven ability to perform detailed electrical takeoffs and build complete bid packages.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates for commercial/industrial electrical projects from plan review to proposal submission.
• Perform electrical takeoffs to calculate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Collaborate with leadership to set project scope, constructability, risk, and labor assumptions.
• Evaluate vendor/subcontractor pricing and identify missing info or bid clarifications.
• Maintain pipeline to track bids, scope revisions, and proposal statuses.
• Prepare turnover packages for award to ensure smooth budgets and vendor commitments.
• Review estimates vs. actual performance to improve future bids.

Commercial Electrical Estimator -- Lead Industrial & Commercial Bidding for PFD Electric, LLC

Job Overview:

• Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid)

The Opportunity:

You will own and drive the daily estimating process for complex commercial and industrial electrical projects across Arizona. Working directly with field leadership, you will take the hands-on preconstruction workload off operations while transforming technical vision into winning, accurate proposals. Your expertise will directly shape the company's estimating strategy, project pipeline, and future growth as part of a close-knit team.

How You Will Make an Impact:

• Prepare accurate estimates for commercial and industrial electrical projects from initial plan review through final proposal submission.
• Perform detailed electrical takeoffs to calculate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs for hard-bid, design-build, and budgetary projects.
• Collaborate with the Director of Field Operations to establish project scope, constructability approach, risk profiles, and labor assumptions.
• Evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing while proactively identifying missing information or bid clarifications.
• Maintain an organized estimating pipeline to track active bid deadlines, scope revisions, and proposal statuses.
• Prepare complete project turnover packages upon award to ensure seamless transitions for budget, labor assumptions, and vendor commitments.
• Review estimated versus actual project performance post-completion to continuously optimize future bidding accuracy.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Mandatory proficiency and hands-on experience using Conest Estimating Software.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical construction and/or estimating.
• Proven ability to perform detailed electrical takeoffs and build complete bid packages from scratch.
• Strong expertise in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, specifications, single-line diagrams, and project documents.
• In-depth understanding of electrical construction methods, installation sequencing, labor productivity, and material costs.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• Prior hands-on field experience as a Journeyman, Foreman, or field supervisor.
• Experience estimating projects in active industrial, manufacturing, food & beverage, process facilities, or water/wastewater environments.
