Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an Electrical Estimator to join a client in the commercial construction industry. This individual will prepare detailed electrical estimates for large-scale commercial construction projects, including pursuits and programs valued at more than $1 billion.

The Electrical Estimator will review plans, specifications, blueprints, and bid documents while performing accurate quantity takeoffs and developing labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of commercial construction electrical estimating experience.
• Experience on mega-scale projects with values > $1B.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specs.
• Experience performing quantity takeoffs.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical estimates for large-scale commercial projects.
• Review plans, specs, blueprints, and bid documents; perform takeoffs.
• Develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals; identify scope gaps.
• Collaborate with preconstruction and estimating teams to develop budgets and support VE.
• Manage multiple pursuits and deadlines; communicate findings and pricing strategies.

Must Haves

• 6+ years of commercial construction Electrical estimating experience
• Experience supporting large-scale commercial construction projects with individual project values exceeding $1 billion
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Experience performing quantity takeoffs
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Experience utilizing construction estimating software and digital takeoff technologies (such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, or similar tools)

Plusses

• Experience supporting preconstruction operations for a General Contractor
• Experience evaluating subcontractor pricing and supplier proposals
• Experience supporting design development, GMP, and final bid estimates on mega-projects
• Experience coordinating with multiple trade partners and preconstruction stakeholders during large-scale pursuits

The Electrical Estimator will review plans, specifications, blueprints, and bid documents while performing accurate quantity takeoffs and developing labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing. They will evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals, identify scope gaps, assess constructability concerns, and mitigate pricing risks throughout the estimating process. The role requires close collaboration with preconstruction and estimating teams to develop project budgets, support value engineering initiatives, and participate in estimate reviews. This person will manage multiple pursuits and deadlines simultaneously while effectively communicating estimate findings, recommendations, and pricing strategies to internal and external project stakeholders.
