Job summary

Christman Building Innovation Group (CBIG) is seeking an Electrical Estimator to join our Dallas, Texas team. You will determine cost estimates for electrical work, prepare proposals, and collaborate with project management to support successful bids.

Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 3 years of construction or estimating experience, with proficiency in Planswift and WinEst. This role requires attention to detail and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of experience in construction or related field.
• Strong knowledge of estimating software such as Planswift and WinEst.
• Understanding of accounting and project management concepts.
• Experience with quantity take-offs and preparing proposals.

Responsibilities

• Deter­mine cost estimates for electrical work and prepare proposals.
• Survey, quantify materials, and produce assemblies from drawings.
• Prepare proposal letters, qualification and clarification sheets.
• Read and interpret technical documents and due-care plans.
• Manage bid invitations and gather pricing input from subs/ suppliers.
• Present estimates to clients and support bid presentations.
• Handoff estimates to project management with drawings and specs.

Job description

Christman Building Innovation Group (CBIG) seeks an Electrical Estimator to join our Dallas, Texas team. The role involves determining cost estimates for electrical work, preparing proposals, and collaborating with project management.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate conceptual estimating proficiency in scope review, subcontractor knowledge, and estimating software platforms.
• Survey, quantify materials, and produce assemblies from drawings.
• Prepare proposal letters, qualification and clarification sheets.
• Read and interpret technical documents such as geotechnical reports and due‑care plans.
• Manage supplier and subcontractor bid invitations, and follow up for pricing input.
• Present estimates and client relations in estimate presentations.
• Review contract scopes and associated dollar figures.
• Assist with subcontractor recommendations and buyouts.
• Meet deadline challenges and prioritize multiple assignments.
• Work with bid team to prepare accurate bid proposals.
• Provide technical assistance to project managers in negotiating contracts, change orders, etc.
• Ensure timely bid submission and management of required bid documentation.
• Handoff estimates, bidding information, drawings, and specifications to project management.
• Organize and perform quantity take‑offs.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field.
• Three (3) years of work experience in construction or related field.
• -- or -- equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Strong knowledge of estimating software such as Planswift and WinEst.
• Basic understanding of accounting and project management concepts.
• Deep understanding of research methodology, data analysis, and estimation metrics.

Expected Hours and Travel

Full‑time position. Extended hours and weekends may apply. Minimal travel required, with the possibility of additional travel to other areas during work hours or overnight stays.
