We are looking to hire an experienced ELECTRICAL ESTIMATOR in our Pittsburgh, PA office who is able to prepare complete estimates with minimal supervision. The estimator will work closely with and support the Preconstruction Manager and Chief Estimator in developing accurate estimates.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Attend pre-bid, scope review, and other meetings with clients as required.
2. Bid projects with detailed proposals using estimating software (Accubid).
3. Develop a project approach plan for each estimate, including timelines.
4. Read, review, and understand specifications relevant to each job.
5. Interpret drawings and documents accurately.
6. Collaborate effectively within a team environment.
7. Understand and utilize drawing symbols related to various systems such as fire alarm, lighting, motor controls, etc.
8. Use drawing scales and takeoff devices proficiently.
9. Assist in training team members.
10. Work closely with general contractors, architects, engineers, and clients as needed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

1. At least 3 years of experience as an Electrical Estimator, primarily in Commercial and Industrial applications.
2. Experience with projects ranging from $100k to $100m.
3. Knowledge of healthcare and mission-critical systems.
4. Ability to identify discrepancies in documents and formulate questions promptly.
5. Ability to recognize value engineering opportunities.
6. Experience developing estimates at various design stages.
7. Understanding of electrical work and materials.
8. Skill in setting up and performing accurate takeoffs and entering quantities neatly and professionally.
