Role Description

The Electrician Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Orlando area. This role is responsible for reviewing plans, specifications, and site conditions to prepare accurate estimates for commercial electrical projects, including new installations, maintenance, and repair work. Day-to-day tasks include performing takeoffs, calculating material and labor costs, coordinating with project managers and field electricians, and refining estimates based on vendor quotes and subcontractor input. The Electrician Estimator collaborates with customers and internal teams to clarify project requirements, provide competitive proposals, and support scheduling and resource planning. The role also involves updating cost databases, maintaining documentation, and advising on value-engineering options that align with safety standards, code compliance, and company quality expectations.

Qualifications

• Strong foundational knowledge of electricity and electrical principles, with the ability to interpret technical documents and project specifications.
• Hands-on experience in electrical work for commercial environments, including familiarity with installations and code-compliant practices.
• Skills in maintenance & repair and troubleshooting to understand scope, identify issues, and estimate corrective actions accurately.
• Exposure to or understanding of electrical engineering concepts relevant to load calculations, system design, and project planning.
• Experience preparing estimates or bids for commercial electrical projects, including material takeoffs and labor cost calculations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with clients, vendors, project managers, and field teams.
• Proficiency with basic office software; familiarity with estimating or project management tools is beneficial.
• Valid electrician license or relevant certification preferred; prior experience in commercial electrical service in Central Florida is a plus.
