Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator / Preconstruction Leader to drive competitive and conceptual estimating efforts for both public and private sector projects across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. This is a key role for a sharp, detail-oriented professional who can develop accurate budgets, assess scope, and support early project planning in fast-paced, design-build and hard-bid environments.

The ideal candidate understands the regional market landscape, can price complex electrical systems accurately, and works collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to guide project pursuits from the earliest stages. This position is ideal for someone who wants to be a core part of a strategic estimating team, with the opportunity to grow into senior leadership over time.

Key Performance Expectations:

• Deliver accurate, complete, and timely electrical estimates for commercial, institutional, and public works projects
• Support design-build, design-assist, and hard-bid project types with strong cost and systems understanding
• Prepare and maintain detailed takeoffs and pricing models using Accubid and On-Screen Takeoff
• Participate in conceptual budgeting and early preconstruction planning with clients and GC partners
• Evaluate drawings and specifications, identifying scope gaps, constructability issues, and value engineering options
• Collaborate with project management and operations to transition estimates into successful field execution
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market pricing, labor productivity, and supplier/subcontractor inputs

Tools & Technical Proficiency:

• Proficient in Accubid, Bluebeam, and On-Screen Takeoff
• Ability to prepare electrical scope narratives and proposal documents
• Strong knowledge of NEC, local codes, and constructability best practices
• Experience preparing estimates for a range of delivery types: design-build, GMP, hard bid

Preferred Background:

• 5–15+ years of experience in electrical estimating, preconstruction, or project engineering
• Experience with both public works and private sector project types
• Exposure to municipal clients, K-12, higher education, commercial, and healthcare projects
• Strong organizational and communication skills—able to work with clients, engineers, and internal stakeholders
• Prior field experience or project management exposure is a plus
