Job Description:
A leading Electrical Contractor based in Long Island City, NY, is seeking a full-time Senior Electrical Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing competitive bids and accurate cost estimates for building and transit projects. This role requires a keen eye for detail, exceptional organizational skills, and a strong understanding of electrical systems and construction processes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates.
2. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to obtain the necessary information for estimates.
3. Perform take-offs and develop detailed material, labor, and time cost breakdowns.
4. Analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes to ensure comprehensive and competitive bids.
5. Stay current with industry trends, material costs, and labor rates.
6. Prepare bid proposals and submit them on time to prospective clients.
7. Communicate with clients as needed during the bidding process.

Qualifications:

1. Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator, Engineer, or Electrician in construction or transit projects.
2. Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and standards.
3. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
4. Proficiency in estimation software (such as Sage/Timberline, Accubid, McCormick, or similar tools) is a plus.
5. Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
6. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
