Job description

Electrical Estimator - Own the Numbers. Shape the Work.

$100,000 - $140,000

Be the reason your company wins the right projects

You know commercial electrical construction. You know that the real leverage point is the estimate - where risk, profit, and project success all begin.

In this role, you own that moment. From first plan review to final bid, you'll be the one turning drawings into sharp, profitable numbers for an established electrical contractor with a strong pipeline.

Your work directly influences which projects the company chases, wins, and delivers.

If you've been estimating commercial electrical work and want more impact, visibility, and ownership, we want to talk to you.

What You'll Work On

You'll be the go-to estimator for commercial electrical construction and renovation projects, taking bids from concept through handoff to operations:

  • Commercial electrical new construction projects
  • Commercial electrical renovation projects
  • Detailed quantity takeoffs and cost build-ups
  • Bid packages, proposals, qualifications, and exclusions
  • Vendor and subcontractor pricing strategies
  • Value engineering and cost-saving options
  • Pre-bid meetings and site visits
  • Historical pricing and estimating data

This is where your takeoffs, judgment, and pricing instincts become a core business advantage.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Preparing detailed estimates for commercial electrical construction and renovation projects
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and bid documents
  • Performing quantity takeoffs and developing labor and material costs
  • Attending pre-bid meetings and conducting project site visits
  • Soliciting, reviewing, and leveling vendor and subcontractor pricing
  • Preparing complete bid packages, proposals, qualifications, and exclusions
  • Identifying value-engineering and cost-saving opportunities on bids
  • Assisting with project handoff from estimating to operations
  • Maintaining accurate historical pricing and estimating data
  • Managing multiple bids and tight deadlines simultaneously
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of electrical estimating experience preferred
  • Strong commercial electrical construction background
  • Experience estimating both new construction and renovation projects
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and specifications
  • Knowledge of electrical materials, labor units, and construction methods
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience with estimating software is a plus
  • Ability to juggle multiple bids and competing deadlines
The Experience That Will Really Get Our Attention

You're the estimator project teams trust because your numbers are tight, your scopes are clear, and you see the risks and opportunities others miss. You've worked across a range of commercial projects and you know how to turn incomplete information into confident, competitive bids.

You bring a deep feel for electrical materials, labor units, and constructability, and you're comfortable pushing for value engineering ideas that protect margins without compromising quality.

Why This Opportunity?

You're not just filling out numbers on someone else's spreadsheet - your estimates will help determine which projects the company pursues and wins.

You'll have direct visibility with senior leadership and a strong project pipeline to keep you challenged and engaged.

This is a chance to make a clear, measurable impact on a stable, established electrical contractor while doing the work you already know you're good at.

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with your experience, targeted in the six figures.
