Job summary

United Electric Company, Inc. in Louisville, KY is seeking an Electrical Estimator to support bid planning for industrial and large commercial projects. You will takeoffs, price labor and materials, review drawings, and prepare competitive proposals with our estimating team.

Ideally you have 3+ years of electrical estimating experience, solid NEC knowledge, and experience with Accubid. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Google Suite is a plus; field experience is valued.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of electrical estimating experience (contractor side preferred).
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, NEC, and construction documents.
• Accubid proficiency is a major plus — tell us about it.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Google Suite is a plus.
• Field background (apprenticeship, journeyman, or PM experience) is a bonus.
• Detail-driven, deadline-reliable, and comfortable owning a bid start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete electrical estimates for industrial and large commercial projects — takeoffs, labor units, material pricing, and vendor/sub quotes
• Review bid documents, drawings, and specs to identify scope, risks, and opportunities
• Build clear, competitive proposals alongside our Director of Estimating and project teams
• Present and defend your estimates directly to management and customers
• Support pre-construction handoffs so awarded work starts on solid footing

UEC is a growing, employee-owned (ESOP) electrical contractor serving battery manufacturing, data center, and utility markets across the region. We're looking for an Electrical Estimator to help us win the work that fuels that growth.

What You'll Do

Compensation: Commensurate with experience
