Normal Working Hours: 7am – 3:30pm
Salary Range: $100,000 - $180,000
The Project Manager is responsible for managing commercial, infrastructure, and industrial electrical projects, scheduling resources, ensuring budgets and timelines are met, and managing assigned electricians. The Project Manager acts as the primary contact for project inquiries while maintaining high customer service standards.
The Project Manager will promote the best of Balfour Beatty at all times and should foster a positive company image through quality service that exceeds expectations.
Responsibilities and Duties as a Project Manager
- Manage infrastructure & industrial electrical projects, ranging from $50,000 to $5,000,000, ensuring they meet budget, timeline, and quality requirements.
- Manage subcontractors, including subcontracts, submittals, change orders, and closeout documents.
- Manage material vendors, including subcontracts, submittals, change orders, and closeout documents.
- Ensure safety, environmental, and quality standards are met on each project.
- Monitor budgets to evaluate performance and ensure compliance with company objectives.
- Manage project schedules to meet client commitments.
- Oversee work orders and approve invoices.
- Manage project deliverables from estimating through closeout.
- Read and understand construction drawings, including electrical, communications, fire alarm, security, civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, and plumbing.
- Facilitate project meetings, including kick-offs, planning, progress updates, change management, reviews, and lessons learned.
- Provide regular project status reports to executive management.
- Estimate time and materials accurately and provide timely quotes to customers.
- Manage customer expectations with high service standards.
- Oversee electrical field work, installations, and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities and Duties as an Estimator
- Prepare and execute lump-sum public bids for projects valued from less than $1 million to $10 million.
- Experience with design/build and conceptual estimating from bridging documents preferred.
- Understand self-performed and subcontractor scopes of work.
Experience and Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or relevant professional experience.
- Solid knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC).
- 5+ years of experience in electrical estimating and project management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with Construction Management Software and cloud-based applications.
- Excellent conflict resolution, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong work ethic, organized, efficient, and able to multitask effectively.
