• Preferred: technical diploma/degree in electrical tech, EE, construction mgmt, or related field.

Role Description

The Electrical Estimator role is a full-time position. The Electrical Estimator will review project plans, specifications, and scopes of work to prepare accurate electrical cost estimates for commercial, residential, and industrial projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing quantity take-offs, gathering material and labor pricing, analyzing subcontractor bids, and developing detailed proposals for clients and project managers. The role involves collaborating with project managers, engineers, and field teams to clarify technical requirements, identify cost‑saving opportunities and support bid negotiations. The Electrical Estimator will also update cost databases, maintain estimating records, and help refine processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Electrical Estimating (3+ years), including quantity take-offs, bid preparation, and proposal development.
• Candidates should be experienced in McCormick or Accubid.
• Candidates should possess skills in Cost Control and budgeting, with the ability to analyze pricing, manage cost assumptions, and support profitable project delivery.
• Candidates should possess knowledge of Electrical Contracting practices, including codes, standards, and typical installation methods across commercial, residential, and industrial projects.
• Candidates should possess a solid understanding of Electricity principles and electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and controls.
• Candidates should possess foundational Electrical Engineering concepts relevant to design review, technical specifications, and value engineering.
• Relevant qualifications include experience in construction or electrical contracting environments, proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office, and strong analytical skills.
• Additional beneficial qualifications include excellent communication and collaboration skills, attention to detail, the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings, and prior experience as an electrician or in the electrical trades.
• Preferred education includes a technical diploma or degree in electrical technology, electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
