Job summary

Addison Group is seeking an Electrical Estimator in Charlotte, NC to support large-scale underground electrical, utility, and infrastructure projects across the Southeast. You will work with senior estimators, operations, subcontractors, and vendors to build accurate estimates, bid packages, and cost proposals.

The ideal candidate has experience estimating dry utilities and related electrical construction, reads blueprints, develops BOMs, and coordinates pricing.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4+ years of experience estimating electrical construction, utility, infrastructure, commercial, or industrial projects.
• Experience supporting underground electrical systems, dry utilities, duct banks, site lighting, or related infrastructure.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and bid documents.
• Experience developing takeoffs, material lists, labor estimates, and project cost analyses.
• Proficiency with Excel and other MS Office apps.
• Experience reviewing bids and supporting procurement.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements to develop accurate project estimates.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and enter estimating data into company estimating software.
• Develop Bills of Material (BOMs) and coordinate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Analyze scope, labor requirements, equipment, and materials to craft competitive bids.
• Collaborate with estimating, operations, project management, and field teams to validate pricing strategies.
• Review vendor/subcontractor proposals to ensure alignment with project needs.
• Assist with budgeting, proposal preparation, and bid submission activities.
• Support multiple estimating efforts simultaneously under deadlines.

Position Overview:
A growing electrical infrastructure and utility construction organization is seeking an Electrical Estimator to support estimating efforts for large-scale underground electrical, utility, and infrastructure projects throughout the Southeast. This individual will work closely with senior estimators, operations leadership, subcontractors, and vendors to develop accurate project estimates, bid packages, and cost proposals for high-profile construction projects.
The ideal candidate will bring experience estimating dry utilities, underground electrical systems, duct banks, site lighting, utility infrastructure, or related commercial and industrial electrical construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review plans, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements to develop accurate project estimates.


• Perform quantity takeoffs and enter estimating data into company estimating software.


• Develop Bills of Material (BOMs) and coordinate pricing efforts with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors.


• Analyze project scope, labor requirements, equipment needs, and material costs to develop competitive bids.


• Collaborate with estimating, operations, project management, and field teams to validate assumptions and pricing strategies.


• Review vendor and subcontractor proposals to ensure alignment with project requirements.


• Assist with project budgeting, proposal preparation, and bid submission activities.


• Support multiple estimating efforts simultaneously while meeting aggressive deadlines.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum 4+ years of experience estimating electrical construction, utility, infrastructure, commercial, or industrial projects.


• Experience supporting projects involving underground electrical systems, dry utilities, duct banks, site lighting, conduit systems, or related infrastructure.


• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and bid documents.


• Experience developing takeoffs, material lists, labor estimates, and project cost analyses.


• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.


• Experience reviewing vendor and subcontractor bids and supporting procurement efforts.


• Experience with Bluebeam or similar estimating/document review platforms preferred.


• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
