Job summary

Vylor is seeking a Plant Electrician for our York, Nebraska site to ensure safe and reliable operation of electrical systems. You will perform repairs, inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance, focusing on electrical, controls, instrumentation, and HVAC systems, while supporting capital projects.

The position requires a Journeyman license and 2+ years in industrial maintenance, with on-site work and overtime as needed. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered to eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• Requires 2+ years in Industrial Electrician/Maintenance field.
• Journeyman license required or equivalent.
• Willing to work on elevated surfaces with fall protection.
• Ability to work extended hours including weekends/holidays as needed.
• Knowledge of PLC automation servers and control systems helpful.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all work meets safety standards; lead risk reduction efforts.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
• Create/modify/close work orders in CMMS; document labor and parts.
• Support capital projects with internal teams and vendors.
• Maintain plant equipment records and site prints.
• Lead project work with Operations to avoid production downtime.

NOW OFFERING $5,000 SIGN ON BONUS!! – We have an exciting opportunity for a Plant Electrician to join our company and support our York NE location. As the Plant Electrician, you will focus on ensuring safe and reliable operation of plant electrical systems by performing electrical repairs, inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance in compliance with company safety standards. It includes maintaining and improving electrical, controls, instrumentation, HMI, and HVAC systems; supporting capital projects; and recommending safety and process improvements. The position also manages electrical work orders, documentation, and preventive/predictive maintenance plans to minimize downtime and support continuous production.

This role will be 100% on‑site at the location

Responsibilities

• Ensure all work meets company safety standards by leading safe practices, driving risk reduction efforts, and supporting incident investigations
• Support plant operations through corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance activities
• Create, modify, and close work orders in CMMS along with ensuring accurate documentation of labor and parts allocation
• Provide maintenance support for capital projects while working with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure safe, effective execution, and strong communication across shifts and departments
• Maintain the condition of the plant shop and maintenance tools
• Utilize predictive maintenance tools to identify emerging equipment issues and develop, update, and train others on effective preventive maintenance plans
• Assist in maintaining detailed equipment records and site/system prints
• Plan and lead project work as needed, working with Operations to ensure maintenance activities are completed without interrupting production
• Maintain Enterprise Asset Management system: ensure work order quality, PM plans, and provide user training/support, etc.
• Assist in estimating labor and equipment costs, maintain maintenance and repair records, and support the development, installation, inspection, and upkeep of new or upgraded mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Ensure operation of company equipment including electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, control devices, and HVAC, for process and facility
• Perform electrical repairs and scheduled inspections of equipment, following the prescribed guidelines and procedures
• Make recommendations for improved safety through electrical programs and/or process changes including addition of new devices, and hardware

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED.
• You have 2 years of experience and/or education in an Industrial Electrician/Maintenance field
• Willing and able to work on elevated surfaces using fall protection equipment
• Willingness and flexibility to work extended and overtime, including weekends and holidays, as needed to support business needs
• Possesses basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn, understand, and apply mechanical concepts
• You have a good understanding of maintaining/repairing, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, mechanical power transmission systems, HVAC systems, electrical systems, welding, and fabrication work
• Work both outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet, and dry conditions
• Exposure to dust and plant allergens including but not limited to corn, sunflower, cotton, and canola pollen and protein and sorghum as well as potential mold spores and/or chemicals in the course of your duties
