Job summary

RESA Power in Wixom, MI is hiring a Shop Tech to execute work assignments from management and internal customers, supporting shop operations and customer orders. Responsibilities include inspection, painting prep, equipment operation, and electrical troubleshooting.

Required: a High School diploma/GED and at least 1 year in a related field; knowledge of OSHA/state safety standards and electrical equipment. Travel up to 50% may be required; union benefits provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED and at least 1 year of related field experience.
• Knowledge of OSHA and state safety standards.
• Knowledge of industry standards (NETA, OSHA, IEEE, NFPA).
• Experience with MCCs, breakers, relay testing, oil testing, infrared scanning or related military training.
• Able to solve problems and work in a team environment.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Customer-focused with ability to meet deadlines across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming equipment for defects and prepare consignment equipment for painting.
• Read and interpret PDS/SDS for paints and primers.
• Operate painting and finishing tools (HVLP, orbital sander, pressure pot).
• Handle material movement and transport equipment (forklift, pallet jack).
• Troubleshoot, test, and repair electrical equipment; conduct test reports to standards.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and follow safety policies.
