Job summary

Intermountain Electronics (IE) is a leading provider of custom engineered process, electrical control, and power distribution solutions for data centers and industrial applications. The Mechanical Assembly Technician on the day shift at the Centralia, IL facility will install cable trays, buss bars, doors, and various components on electrical equipment, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

You will work with a team to assemble and test parts, using hand tools, cranes, and forklifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma plus one-year experience in heavy industrial manufacturing operations or equivalent.
• Ability to read wiring schematics and layout diagrams.
• Experience with various hand tools.
• Self-motivated and able to work in a team with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to travel up to 5% of time.

Responsibilities

• Install cable trays, buss bars, and haul/hang doors and siding on electrical equipment.
• Assemble and mount sub-assemblies and standard fixed assemblies in electrical control equipment.
• Follow quality processes to verify mechanical integrity of units.
• Position and align work pieces to facilitate wiring and assembly; adjust parts as needed.
• Repair or replace defective electrical components and ensure conformance to specs.
