Job summary

Dal-Tile Distribution, Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Technician to troubleshoot and maintain electrical systems and machinery in our production environment. You will handle controls, conveyors, and equipment to keep operations running smoothly.

Key qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, a 2-year associate degree (preferred), and 5+ years of electro-mechanical maintenance experience. PLC skills and CAD familiarity are essential.

Dal-Tile is currently seeking an exceptional Electrical Engineering Technician to join our TEAM! As the Electrical Engineering Technician, we need someone who is ready to troubleshoot repairs and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as electronic controls, conveyor systems, production machines and equipment.

Sign-On Bonus Structure

• $2,000 after 90 days

• $3,000 after 12 months

• $5,000 at 18 months

Primary Objective

Performs complex Electrical duties on machines and equipment needed for production and performs some mechanical troubleshooting as necessary.

Major Function and Scope

This position is primarily focused on electrical maintenance, with approximately 90% of the responsibilities involving electrical duties and 10% involving mechanical troubleshooting.

Assists in the development of the production and manufacturing processes. Provides equipment maintenance and technical support to production department. Recommends the correct and appropriate procedures of the production assembly. Minimizes equipment downtime and ensures all production equipment is functional at all times.

Tests, calibrates, repairs and modifies control and instrumentation systems for plant production/process equipment. Analyzes malfunctions of instruments and control systems and determines necessary steps to repair equipment. Prepares reports and records on calibration, inspection, testing, and repair activities.

Assembles, tests, and modifies experimental and/or operational electrical machinery, electrical control equipment, electrical circuitry and components according to engineering specifications in industrial or commercial plants and laboratories. Diagnoses causes of malfunctions or failures and performs preventive/corrective maintenance. Records data; recommends modification or replacement of failed equipment.

Troubleshoots repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as electronic controls, conveyor systems, production machines and equipment.

Lays out, builds, tests, troubleshoots, repairs and modifies electronic developmental and production equipment, parts, components, and systems according to engineering instructions. Analyzes and interprets test data. Evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production model. Recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.

Experience and Knowledge Required

High school diploma or equivalent experience. Two-year Associates Degree in industrial Maintenance field preferred.

Five or more years industrial electro- mechanical maintenance experience.

Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in use of meters and testing equipment to verify correct operation of electrical components.

Must be proficient with Computers, and have demonstratable knowledge and ability to use PLC programming software to access and diagnose programs.

Competencies

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project.

Capable of interpreting blueprints and CAD drawings.

Strong leadership, problem solving, time management, project management, interpersonal, math and communication (verbal and written) skills.

Ability to respond during nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to support maintenance.

Internal Candidates: Demonstrated ability to function as Maintenance Tech III for minimum of two years.
