General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking an Engineering Technician to support critical government, defense, and intelligence projects. You will contribute to meaningful outcomes while growing alongside a mission-driven team.

The role requires 1+ years of related experience and an Associates Degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent. Responsibilities include cable management, wiring, testing, and reading drawings and schematics in shipboard and industrial settings.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of related experience.
• Associates Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, installs, replaces, and tests electrical circuits, cables, equipment, and connectors.
• Uses hand tools and testing equipment.
• Inspects and tests electrical equipment, lighting, signal, communication, and power circuits.
• Isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using general and specialized testing equipment.
• Replaces faulty switches, sockets, and other elements of electrical systems.
• Dismantles electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes, and armatures.
• Mounts motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures into position and completes circuits according to diagram specifications.
• Works from drawings, blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Participates in special projects as required.
• Must be able to obtain all necessary badges (DBIDS and shipyard).
• Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces.
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes up to 75 lbs.
• Travel (within and outside of the continental United States) may be required for 20% of the time
