Job summary

General Atomics is seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager to lead the Electrical Technologies team in Rancho Bernardo. You will oversee power and control electronics development for HEL systems, laser beam director controllers, and space/satellite products within a fast-paced R&D environment.

The role reports to the Director of Electrical Technologies and emphasizes technical leadership, program coordination, and collaboration across internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in Electrical Engineering; 11+ years of progressively complex engineering experience preferred.
• Active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance required.
• Experience in mixed-signal circuit design, power systems, and hardware for photonics/space applications preferred.
• Experience with design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR) and safety architecture for complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and technically lead engineering projects from inception to completion.
• Collaborate with program management to set objectives for scope, schedule, quality and budgets.
• Develop electrical architectures and perform analyses for power and control electronics across product lines.
• Interface with suppliers, customers and internal teams to resolve problems and share information.
