Job Description

Position: Electrical Engineering Manager

Location: Remote

Overview

The Electrical Engineering Manager oversees all electrical aspects of our utility-scale solar projects, managing a growing team of engineers supporting project execution, construction, and operations. The role involves working with senior management to develop design standards and processes for delivering high-quality, cost-effective designs.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Lead initiatives to reduce costs and improve efficiency within EPC functions.
  2. Foster a positive culture and strategic vision to support organizational growth.
  3. Drive innovation to decrease capital and lifecycle costs, including material and labor costs.
  4. Collaborate across functions from design to project closeout.
  5. Support RFP processes, including proposal reviews.
  6. Participate in equipment selection and technical vetting.
  7. Manage relationships with external consultants and internal teams.
  8. Forecast staffing needs and communicate resource requirements.
  9. Mentor engineers and oversee engineering quality and standards.
  10. Provide technical direction and review for electrical design tasks.
  11. Conduct electrical systems analysis using SKM or similar software.
  12. Create technical specifications and support energy modeling efforts.
  13. Ensure engineering standards meet project and O&M requirements.
  14. Support project management and operations teams during project execution and commissioning.
  15. Identify value engineering opportunities and improve design processes.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering; PE license required.

Experience: Minimum 15 years in electrical engineering/management, with expertise in power systems, substation design, and large-scale PV projects. Proficiency in relevant software (AutoCAD, PVSyst, SKM/ETAP, MS Office, etc.) is required.

Experience with high voltage, substations, and technical specifications for power plants is preferred.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in MS Office, BlueBeam, Procore, PVSyst, and experience with ETAP or similar analysis tools is desirable.
