Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation, through its Pierce Manufacturing unit, offers an internship in electrical design to help craft reliable, cost-conscious electrical systems for advanced fire apparatus. You will contribute to BOMs, engineering documentation, and CAD drawings while learning industry standards and best practices.

Collaborating with suppliers, manufacturing and customer service, you will troubleshoot field issues, optimize parts count, and support option configurations.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program for the duration of the internship.
• Targeting electrical engineering or related fields with strong math/physics.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering drawings, layouts and schematics with CAD.
• Create Bills of Material (BOM).
• Select materials for engineered parts.
• Dimension and tolerance drawings for proper assembly.
• Conform to drafting standards and department policies.
• Prepare Engineering Change Notices (ECN).
• Coordinate with suppliers.
• Check own work and that of others.
• Maintain knowledge of One World, PRIDE and PC networks.
• Support Customer Service with electrical/multiplexing field problems.
• Support Manufacturing with electrical/multiplexing questions, features and upgrades.
• Support Production with option configuration.
