Job summary

Jacobs seeks an Electrical Engineering Intern for the Federal Buildings team in St. Louis, MO. You will be mentored by Professional Engineers, applying theory to design and solution development for local and world-wide clients.

Qualifications

  • Enrollment in ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering program.
  • Completion of at least two years of collegiate coursework.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with Revit and/or AutoCAD.

  • Support engineering calculations, construction drawings, and specifications for federal projects.

Your impact

We are searching for an Electrical Engineering Intern to join our Federal Buildings team in St. Louis, MO. As part of our team, you’ll have the chance to work on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients’ challenges locally and worldwide.

During your internship, you will be mentored by Professional Engineers while you engage with our clients, evaluate their energy needs, and develop concept-level plans and solutions. You’ll have the opportunity to use your theoretical knowledge and apply it to solving today’s challenges. Your primary responsibilities will focus on supporting engineering calculations, construction drawings, and specifications for our federal clients' projects. You’ll be responsible for providing design calculations and other related design services including coordination with the designs of other trades (architectural and engineering) under the guidance of more senior technical staff.

We’ll rely on you to provide support to our teams on critical projects while fostering a culture of continuous learning and inclusion as you bring fresh ideas to the table. You’ll work alongside professional engineers and designers, gaining exposure to project coordination, relevant computer-assisted engineering software, data collection and so much more. You’ll also take ownership of the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of the work assigned to you by demonstrating the ability to progress from basic design work assignments to more complicated and involved projects working in conjunction with a technical team.

Here's what you'll need
  • United States Citizenship
  • Currently enrolled in a degree seeking program for Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Completion of at least two years of collegiate coursework
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with Revit and/or AutoCAD
Ideally, you’ll also have
  • 3.0 GPA
  • Previous internship with an engineering or consulting firm or governmental agency
  • Working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD

The base salary range for this position is $40,000.00 to $60,000.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
