Job summary

WSP USA invites students to join our Summer 2027 Electrical Engineering Intern program, with locations in Boise, ID; Kansas City, MO; or Minneapolis, MN. This full-time internship targets undergraduates and graduates and offers hands-on experience in low- and medium-voltage distribution design for industrial facilities, including electrical calculations, system modeling, and Revit.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering Undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Demonstrated interest in Electrical Engineering and a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work and projects.
• Capable of communicating effectively to both engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
• Uphold workplace safety and abide by WSP’s policies.
• Authorization to work in the United States at internship start.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.

• Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds and resources, adhering to WSP’s Code of Conduct.

Our Industrial Team is seeking a full‑time Electrical Engineering Intern - Summer 2027 to work out of our Boise, ID, Kansas City, MO, or Minneapolis, MN office. This temporary position is seeking individuals currently enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate degree program. As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside our team on low‑voltage and medium‑voltage distribution design for industrial facilities. This role provides hands‑on project experience involving electrical calculations, system modeling, and Revit, helping to create reliable, efficient, and innovative electrical systems for clients across a variety of industrial sectors.

This internship will be part of the WSP Summer Internship Program. As a summer intern, you have the opportunity to participate in our 12‑week program scheduled to start on May 17th, 2027. The individual start date of the internship may be flexible.

Your Impact

• Please note that there is no relocation or housing assistance associated with this internship.

Required Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering Undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Demonstrated interest in Electrical Engineering and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work and projects.
• Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
• Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to executive projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
• Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering Masters or PhD program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later.
• Experience with Revit.
• Prior internship and leadership involvement on campus.

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations): $22.17 - $29.96

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
