Job summary

RTX in Atlanta, GA is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to support RF front-end hardware development and radar system projects. The Effector Guidance Electronics Department at Raytheon is currently seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to support engineers in the Advanced Radio Frequency (RF) Front-End Hardware organization. This role may involve supporting the development of leading-edge compact systems and sensors to enable future generation technologies across RTX. This role will be based onsite in Atlanta, GA.

What You Will Do

• Work with cross-functional hardware engineering teams to develop architecture solutions for airborne radar antenna arrays meeting the highest customer expectations;
• Assist engineers in the design of RF high-density microelectronic packaging solutions and payloads, electronic components / devices such as ASICs and FPGAs, electronic packaging structures and interconnects, and/or thermal control design of high-density electronic systems and electronic enclosures;
• Support the design, development, and testing of RF hardware used in high-performance communication products, such as sophisticated software-defined radios, amplifiers, receivers, exciters, and data links designed for various ground, airborne, and space applications;
• Support testing of RF components, systems, and devices; and
• Follow established procedures while working closely with program management and experienced engineers to ensure overall design objectives are met

What You Will Learn

• Practical experience developing engineering solutions to support product development from beginning to end, including documentation, fabrication, assembly, and test/delivery of military products;
• Exposure to real radar hardware integration workflows and system verification; and
• Mentorship from engineers experienced in implementing RF design to advanced technology solutions.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship.
• Experience or coursework with electronics and/or electronic lab equipment

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with programming languages, such as C, C++, Python, MATLAB, and/or other engineering computing platforms;
• Experience in electromagnetic simulation of components and devices;
• Experience with FPGA and microcontroller module testing and programming;
• Experience in printed circuit board (PCB)/printed wire board (PWB) development, documentation, fabrication, assembly, and test/delivery of military electronic products; and
• Experience with performance power and signal integrity analysis of circuit layouts (Analog, Digital, and RF).
