The role offers hands‑on experience with ASICs, FPGAs, PCB development, and RF testing, with mentorship from seasoned engineers and exposure to system verification in defense applications.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship.
• Experience or coursework with electronics and/or electronic lab equipment.

Responsibilities

• Work with cross-functional hardware engineering teams to develop architecture solutions for airborne radar antenna arrays meeting the highest customer expectations.
• Assist engineers in the design of RF high-density microelectronic packaging solutions and payloads, electronic components / devices such as ASICs and FPGAs, electronic packaging structures and interconnects, and/or thermal control design of high-density electronic systems and electronic enclosures.
• Support the design, development, and testing of RF hardware used in high-performance communication products, such as sophisticated software-defined radios, amplifiers, receivers, exciters, and data links designed for various ground, airborne, and space applications.
• Support testing of RF components, systems, and devices; and Follow established procedures while working closely with program management and experienced engineers to ensure overall design objectives are met.

Effector Guidance Electronics Department at Raytheon is currently seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to support engineers in the Advanced Radio Frequency (RF) Front-End Hardware organization.

This role may involve supporting the development of leading-edge compact systems and sensors to enable future generation technologies across RTX. This role will be based onsite in Atlanta, GA.

What You Will Do

• Work with cross-functional hardware engineering teams to develop architecture solutions for airborne radar antenna arrays meeting the highest customer expectations.
• Assist engineers in the design of RF high-density microelectronic packaging solutions and payloads, electronic components / devices such as ASICs and FPGAs, electronic packaging structures and interconnects, and/or thermal control design of high-density electronic systems and electronic enclosures.

• Practical experience developing engineering solutions to support product development from beginning to end, including documentation, fabrication, assembly, and test/delivery of military products.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship.
• Experience or coursework with electronics and/or electronic lab equipment.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with programming languages, such as C, C++, Python, MATLAB, and/or other engineering computing platforms.
• Experience in electromagnetic simulation of components and devices.
• Experience with FPGA and microcontroller module testing and programming.
• Experience in printed circuit board (PCB)/printed wire board (PWB) development, documentation, fabrication, assembly, and test/delivery of military electronic products.
• Experience with performance power and signal integrity analysis of circuit layouts (Analog, Digital, and RF).

Relocation Eligibility

Salary range: 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
