Job summary

Polluxa, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience supporting substation design projects. You’ll work with seasoned engineers to learn physical layout, protection and control systems, and industry standards.

Ideal candidates are working toward an ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering degree and are eager to learn about energy infrastructure, CAD tools, and teamwork within a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• Interest in substation components and design principles.
• Familiarity with CAD tools is a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing substation components including yard layouts, grounding, and control building arrangements.
• Support development of protection and control schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Help prepare design drawings, calculations, and bills of material.
• Learn and apply NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI standards.
• Participate in reviews and collaborate with engineers to refine designs.
• Maintain project documentation and assist with calculations.
• Attend team meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
