Job summary

Corning Incorporated in Sullivan Park is seeking an Electrical Engineer Intern to support controls-focused engineering activities in a research and development setting. The role provides hands-on design, build, test, and improvement of prototype equipment and associated electrical and control systems.

You will work closely with engineering, operations, maintenance, and technical teams to develop and support prototype equipment used in R&D activities, gaining exposure to instrumentation, sensors,

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Coursework in electrical systems, circuits, controls, instrumentation, automation, or related technical area.

Responsibilities

• Support electrical and controls engineering activities related to prototype, developmental equipment and infrastructure.
• Assist with the design, assembly, testing, debugging, and improvement of prototype equipment and associated electrical and control systems
• Support troubleshooting of electrical, instrumentation, and controls-related issues in partnership with engineers, technicians, and operations personnel
• Assist in developing and implementing improvements to equipment controls, automation, and overall system performance
• Collect, organize, and analyze technical data to support engineering decisions, testing activities, and project execution
• Develop, update, and maintain engineering documentation, including schematics, work instructions, test procedures, specifications, and technical reports
• Support evaluation and selection of sensors, instruments, control components, and related hardware for prototype and R&D applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve equipment reliability, process consistency, and safe operation of developmental systems
• Present project updates, findings, and recommendations to engineering and operational stakeholders as needed
• Perform all other duties as assigned
